Competition Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions are applicable for our Christmas Countdown Advent Calendar competition, as advertised in our daily email prompts.
These terms and conditions are valid from the 1st of December, 2020 and won’t be changed for the duration of the competition.
Start date: 1st December 2020 at 8 am (UK GMT London time zone).
Closing Date: 24th December, 2020 at 11 pm (UK GMT London time zone).
How to enter: Simply follow us on social media and let us know how these writing prompts are inspiring you by sharing it with us on social media. Tag us on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook to share your words. Or showcase your cosy Christmas writing set up with a picture. Let us know how these prompts are helping you! Each tag will act as an entry, and we'll pick a winner at random on the 27th December 2020.
Prize details: 1 place for 1 person on the Derbyshire Writing School online How to Write Your First Novel Course, starting on the 7th January 2021 and running for 4 weeks.
Entry restrictions: Open to U.K. residents aged 18+ only.
NO purchase is required.
Restriction on the number of entries: There are no restrictions on the number of entries. All entrants are expected to act fairly and in the good spirit of the competition.
There is no cash alternative to the prize, and it is not transferable to someone else.
When will the winners receive their prize: The novel course starts on the 7th January 2021 at 7pm. As the prize is non-transferable this is when the prize will be received.
How and when winners will be notified: The winner will be notified by email on the 27th December 2020, and must respond within 10 days to claim their prize.
How the winner will be chosen: The winner will be chosen at random.
The winner will be used for publicity. However, the winner can object to their details being shared.

Under no circumstances will Derbyshire Writing School be responsible for any loss, damages, costs or expenses arising from or in any way connected with any errors, defects, interruptions, malfunctions or delays in the promotion of the competition or prize.
Derbyshire Writing School will not be responsible unless required by law, for any loss, changes, costs or expenses, which may arise in connection with this competition and Derbyshire Writing School can cancel or alter the competition at any stage.
